      " My idea is for this old gas station/grocery store on the corner of 2nd & county line road in Leighton. It would be an AMAZING spot for some creative photography. The idea I had was like either him or I in front with a "looking  for love" sign. In my mind, it is much like a hitch hiker. We could even put a bucket or hat by the sign, and he could be putting flowers in the hat or something"

Strawberry Jude Photography is looking for 2012 Seniors! I am looking for fun & stylish 2012 seniors to help promote my business to their friends and family. Applications will be accepted until March 27th, 2011. One female and one male student from each local high school from North Alabama will be chosen.  The winners will be announced on the blog March 28th!!

If you are chosen to be a senior rep, you will be representing Strawberry Jude Photography and telling your friends all about your session! You will receive special discounts and credits on your print order for every referral that books a session with us.

IN ORDER TO BE A SENIOR REP, YOU MUST:

• Have great style, lots of personality and enjoy being in front of the camera.
• Be a high school student graduating in 2012.
• Live in and attend school in one of the Decatur or surrounding communities.
• Complete your session by August 30th, 2011 and be available for additional sessions upon request.
• Agree to represent Strawberry Jude Photography to your friends and classmates.
• Have your parents or legal guardians sign a model release form.
• Agree to represent ONLY Strawberry Jude Photography and use these images as your senior pictures.

AS PART OF OUR SENIOR REP PROGRAM YOU WILL RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING:

• Free photo session. Photos may be completed in one session or several sessions at Strawberry Jude Photography’s discretion.
• 50 personalized referral cards to give to friends and classmates with your name, your portraits and our business information
• Low-resolution files to share on social networking sites; i.e. Facebook, Myspace or Blogs
• Discounts on your print orders
• Earn a print credit for every person referred for senior portraits. Each referral gets their own discount too!

So Kiersten aka Kiki is one of my very best friends and when she told me that her and Dougie fresh were getting married I was so stinking excited!!! These two are adorable! 

Kiersten knew that she wanted to do something fun and vintage so, naturally we went thrift store shopping! We found some great props, not to mention the use of my husbands prized records!!  From there we did a 1940's themed shoot downtown!

Thus there is boudoir photography! I've been wanting to do some of these for a long time but never had the right person.  Well then there was Hannah. She's my go to girl {she's also an aspiring actress hire her!}

  We had an absolute blast doing this shoot! If you're a fierce chick like Hannah you should try it!

In order to enter the contest for a free engagement session (or newlywed session, or best friend session, or any photo session of two people), just email me with your idea for the shoot. I'm looking for the most creative shoot ideas, locations, props, etc... Are there places you like going on dates? Secret locations that I couldn't find on my own? Crazy costumes or musical instruments?

Email (strawberryjudephotography@yahoo.com) your ideas to me in the next few weeks. I will choose a winning session on Sunday February 27th, and will announce the winning idea on the blog on Monday 2/28. You can be a current client, former client, potential client, a friend or a stranger. You must be willing to sign model releases for me, so that I can use the images for stock and promotion. The winning session will include shooting time, online hosting, and an 8x10 of your favorite shot.

-your names, and either the story of how you met or how you got engaged
-a photo of yourselves
-any ideas, thoughts, or locations you'd like to use for your shoot

Also, if you are interested in a portrait shoot for yourself, your family, you and your partner, or a pet, I will be offering discounted mini portrait sessions through February and March. These sessions will be only $150 (1/3 of the normal portrait price!), will run up to an hour, and will include online hosting, digital proofing/ online hosting, and an 8x10" print of your choice. Availability is limited, so hurry and contact me to set up an appointment!

These sessions are good for groups of up to four people (or pets), maternity photos, newborn shots, senior portraits, engagement shoots, or anything else you can think of - a very good deal for any of those possibilities!

Photoshoots Galore!

I did a photoshoot with Glenn Mitchell's How to be Famous class at the Aveda Institute in Birmingham.

The students each chose a specific look and styled the hair for that look and we did some mini photoshoots for each of them! These are just the prepping shots! I will release some of the actual images from the photoshoots once the stylists have received them! STAY TUNED!

Tiffany and Gerald were such a fun couple! I cant wait to shoot their wedding in October!  It was a HOT one out there! There were quite a few sweaty kisses but these two didn't care! We walked and walked, found some dead sunflowers but in the end GREAT SHOTS! They are so cute together and it shows in these photos!
